Eat It!

These are a few places we enjoy around town:

  • Sacha’s – Columbian, inexpensive, 1/2 off happy hour, the delicious house frozen drink
  • Bohemian – Sunday brunch, Bloody Mary bar, good Cuban sandwich, outdoor dining, Horizon Records store is attached next door
  • Southern Culture – traditional Southern with a slightly fancy/creative twist, with a cool urban/industrial ambience, live music, good brunch on weekends
  • Tsunami – sushi
  • Red Fin – sushi and Himalayan Salt Block cooking at the table
  • Purple – sushi
  • Tommy’s – country/southern, awesome biscuits
  • Rick Erwin’s – steak, $30 theater menu (where we ate on Proposal Night)
  • Pomegranate – Persian, patio dining, live music on Wednesdays (Kelly Jo plays solo here a bit)
  • Saffron – Indian
  • Larkin’s on the River – upscale steaks and seafood, nice outdoor dining
  • Pita House – Middle Eastern
  • Carolina Ale – sports bar-ish, American, open air upstairs
  • Blue Ridge Brewery – good wings, good spinach and goat cheese salad, outdoor dining
  • Papas and Beer – Mexican, salsa bar
  • Chipotle – fast food Mexican, burritos
  • Owl – foodie-ish, creative menu, pricey but good, absinthe cocktails
  • North Main Soda Shop – old-fashioned burgers and shakes
  • Bojangles – fast food fried chicken and biscuits
  • McDonald’s – fast food burgers and addictive fries (Agatha owns stock in the company)
  • Zaxbys – fast food chicken, Kickin’ Chicken Sandwich will drip down to your elbows, old school crushed ice
  • Smoke on the Water – BBQ, upscale Southern, reasonably priced lunch, outdoor dining
  • Lazy Goat – tapas, outdoor dining
  • Velo Fellow – artsy/hipster-ish vibe, pub food, laid back
  • Stellar Wine – good wine list
  • Sassafras – half off wine on Wednesdays
  • Nose Dive – first date, Sunday brunch w/live music and grits bar
  • Grill Marks – fancy burgers
  • Trappe Door – Belgium
  • Soby’s – another upscale Southern, nice atmosphere, great drinks at the bar
  • High Cotton – fine dining, awesome bar
  • Wild Wings – sports bar, wings and beer
  • Bailey’s – sports bar (Kenton likes to go here to watch MMA fights)
  • Logan’s – rolls, Logan’s Ice Tea, good for “redneck date night”
  • Community Tap – craft beer and wine, growler stations, local gourmet food trucks frequent the parking lot and you can eat in the dining room in the back of the store
