Agatha is the daughter of the late Alec and Susan Nichols. Agatha has two older siblings, Bill and Claire. She was born in Cape Town, South Africa (her father was South African). Shortly after, the family moved to London, England for a couple of years, and then moved to the United States, specifically to Toccoa, GA. Agatha attended Toccoa Elementary, Stephens Country Middle School, and Stephens County High School. She went on to become a Bulldog at the University of Georgia in Athens, and obtained her Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), double majoring in accounting and management information systems, and her Masters of Accountancy (MAcc) with a double concentration in audit and management information systems. Agatha enjoyed dancing for many years, and was on the dance line in high school, a Georgette at the University of Georgia, and was an Atlanta Falcons Cheerleader while in grad school. She had many interesting jobs prior to graduating, including a dance instructor, market research analyst, mystery shopper, and a wedding DJ, among other things. She was even a hotdog street vendor (“The Hot Dog Man” in Athens), but only for one night (this was only because she couldn’t figure out how to get a job driving an ice cream truck).
After finishing her graduate program, Agatha started out in the IT Advisory practice at KPMG (a Big 4 Accounting Firm) in Atlanta, GA, and later transferred to their Orange County office in Costa Mesa, CA. At night, she attended Paul Mitchell The School to explore her curiosity of the beauty industry, and held a summer internship for the corporate office/agency of Fred Segal Beauty. She then moved to Hermosa Beach, CA (Los Angeles) for a few years, and continued to do her IT and accounting consulting work, but also spent some time working with Trilogy Spa to further explore her interests in that industry.
Agatha has been self-employed as an independent risk, compliance, and audit consultant since 2005. After spending ~6.5 years in Southern California, she made the move back to the Southeast, and randomly ended up in Greenville, SC, based on a recommendation from one of her best friends, Kristy Thomson. She purchased her first house there in 2008, in the North Main neighborhood.
Gretel is Agatha’s adopted Siamese cat, who made the move with her from California. Agatha enjoys traveling, decorating, shopping, cooking, and entertaining friends. And of course, she also loves a good spa day. Her favorite foods include lamb chops and french fries, and she has an undeniable sweet tooth. She is also a champion at Connect Four.
